Planning travel can be exhausting. There are so many things to research and book in advance to make the trip seamless once you arrive your destination. To help out, I’ve rounded up my favorite travel planning resources that I use to plan my travels.
Flights
One of the first and most important steps to planning a trip is booking a flight. But flights can be so expensive! I use the following travel planning resources to scout out the cheapest flights with the best connections for every trip I take.
Google Flights
Google Flights is probably my must used flight tool. Google Flights provides the easiest way to browse flight deals to anywhere on any date of your choice. My favorite function is the ability to search to any destination. I’ll search to anywhere then choose my trip based on the best flight prices I see. Although I use Google Fights to find the best flight deal, I always go directly to the airline to book my ticket.
Way Away
Way Away is a great site to find discounted flight deals to destinations around the world. I think Way Away works best when you already know the destinatioin you’ll be travelling to. Instead of searching for flights to anywhere, I use Way Away when I already know where I want to go and I want to find deals and discounts to that destination.
Lodging
Finding somewhere to stay is one of the most important steps in planning a trip. Location, accessibility and price can make or break a trip. I use the following travel planning resources to help me find the best place to stay within my travel budget.
Booking.com
Booking.com is the easiest way to see all hotels in a city in one place. You can search through hotels by price, location or brand and conveniently see all your choices side by side. Booking.com is easy to use and my go to site for searching for lodging options around the world.
HostelWorld
If hostels are more your vibe than hotels, hostelworld is the best search and booking website available. Similar to booking.com, hostelworld allows you to search by price, location, private or dorm room, and amenities like a kitchen. It’s a great resource for finding the perfect hostel for your travels.
VRBO
VRBO is one of the best booking platforms to find unique vacation rentals that aren’t hotels or hostels. I’ve found gorgeous cabins and local accommodations through VRBO that aren’t availabile on many other booking sights.
Tours
Once your trip is booked, it’s time to start planning what to do at the destination. I use the below travel planning resources to find reviews of activities, get ideas of teh top sights in the area, and book tours for activities I don’t want to do on my own.
Get Your Guide
Get Your Guide is my favorite travel planning resource to for finding tours and purchasing tickets. On Get Your Guide you can look through so many tour options for local activities, as well as options to book tickets and guides at main attractions. Being able to find tours and tickets in one place make the trip planning process so much easier!
Trip Advisor
Trip Advisor is an amazing resource for finding reviews of tours and activities all around the world. Along with reviews, Trip Advisor is also a tour booking platform that provides the option to book tours and activities.
City Passes
Go City
Go City is my preferred pass for getting discounted tickets and admissions in cities around the world. Purchasing a Go City pass allows you to buy one pass that grants access to all different sorts of attractions throughout different cities. I find it much easier to buy one pass than individual tickets.
Travel Essentials
Amazon
I love Amazon! Amazon is my go-to site for most supplies I need for my travels. Clothing, camera gear, flight essentials, electronics, luggage, day packs – you name it, Amazon has it! You can visit my Amazon Storefront to shop all of my favorite travel essentials.
